In recent years, we have already taken a number of steps to minimize our impact on the environment - we have briefly summarized these below:

2019

Determine the company's carbon footprint for the first time.

2020

70 % of the lamps in our headquarters were converted to LED lights
Changeover to 100 % green electricity from the power supplier, CO2 savings approx. 132,000 lbs/year
Start of technical center conversion to optimize water consumption
Use of hybrid and e-vehicles for the company fleet

2021

Since this year we determine the CO2 footprint according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol
Completion of the technical center conversion saving approx. 50 % / 200,000 gallons water/year
Increased use of videoconferencing to reduce travel activities
Remote startups to reduce flight activities

2022 Target

We aim to reduce Scope 1 & 2 to 0 by 2030; Scope 3 to be reduced by 2045

2023

Switch to printer paper made from 100% recycled paper, resulting in saving approx. 3,000 lbs CO2 per year, approx. 5000 gallons water per year, approx. 7,000 kWh electricity per year, approx. 11,000 lbs fresh wood per year
Reduction of DIN-A4 paper consumption by approx. 35% compared to 2016
CO₂ compensated parcel shipping

What do our efforts mean for our customers?

In our production, where we exclusively use green electricity, our customers can also reduce their CO2 footprint with our sustainable solutions. Whether it's a new plant or a retrofit, our concepts are designed to use as little chemicals, time, water and energy as possible. Together, we will find the right solution for your production facility and who knows, maybe you will also use some of the savings to invest in a green electricity option.

Through our own research and development projects, which are carried out in cooperation with industry partners and universities, LOEHRKE develops innovative processes that help to meet the increasing hygiene requirements in a future-proof, but also economical and ecological way.

We network by participating in trade fairs and events as exhibitors or visitors, by giving technical presentations, by entering into industry partnerships, and we pay attention to everything that can optimize and reduce the costs and resources we use.

Even when it comes to new processes, it's not just a matter of simply installing cleaning and disinfection technology, but rather future-proof technologies, especially in the area of process cleaning (CIP/Cleaning in Place) and state-of-the-art belt lubrication systems - always with a focus on sustainability.

The quality of our products - from their origin to their processing - is what sets us apart. At the same time, we do not forget the quality of the work of all employees on the entire LOEHRKE team, which carries our company into the future.
