tank and container cleaning

More than 500,000 tons of chemicals in the form of dangerous goods, basic chemicals, fine chemicals, toxic and explosive substances and more than 250,000 tons of food, feed and non-food products such as raw materials, semi-finished goods and finished products in the form of bulk materials, granules or liquids are transported on Europe's roads railways and waterways every day.

The transport of these goods is carried out in different transport containers, such as tank and silo trucks, ISO tank containers, tank wagons, IBC's and different special containers. Packaged, partially packed and unpacked final foodstuffs are usually transported in temperature-controlled refrigerated trucks, cooling vans or box vehicles.

All transport containers must be cleaned regularly and with high quality and in some cases, particularly for sensitive food or feed, must be reliably disinfected after the cleaning. LOEHRKE supplies for each of these applications complex system solutions, from system planning, approval according to the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) for dangerous goods to turnkey systems that meet all legal European and international requirements.

The of cleaning of dangerous goods transport containers may involve a high degree of risk from residual amounts, which after unloading are still remaining in the transport containers. Therefore, it is important to take these aspects as well as the associated risks adequately into account during the planning, design and building of systems.

Specific requirements from the statutory approval procedures, such as the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG), the Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control (TA-Luft), the Indirect Discharge Regulation for the wastewater and the explosion damage protection must be observed and implemented.
